ABOUT US

Damascus Baptist Church is a local, autonomous body of baptized believers, united in common faith and Christian love.

We seek to follow the model of the church as established in the New Testament. 

Our worship services are simple, consisting of a time for the singing of hymns, sacred songs and prayer to prepare our hearts for worship. We believe God honors His Word. Therefore the pastor’s primary responsibility, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, is to give a systematic explanation and application of the Bible. Scripture is also the focus in our other ministries, whether it is Sunday School, Bible Camp for young people, the Widows’ Ministry or the Retreats we host for pastors and their wives.

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, and rejoice in the manifestation of God’s relentless love in the seeking and saving of His lost sheep. 

The Lord established His church while He was here on the earth and it is the institution He authorized to do His work. Mindful of our Lord’s Great Commission to His church (Matthew 28:16-20), we endeavor to faithfully and generously support the spreading of the Good News by uniting with other like-minded churches in sending out missionaries around the world.
